DNDW 1: My Accidental Sabbatical

Christine is back to kick off the 2025 series centered on overcoming overwhelm and learning to live healed and whole. Eager to impart what she learned about God, herself, and love during her 1-year accidental sabbatical, Christine shares about some major holy shifts in her life, including an unwanted divorce, an unplanned move, and unwelcome health issues.

She also introduces season three’s theme, DRAW NEAR DWELL WELL, inviting you to explore soul care and spiritual formation practices that can help you live deeply connected to God, yourself, and others. More than theoretical concepts, Christine wants to equip you with practical tools that foster flourishing and empower you in your daily living.

Whether you're battling burnout, walking through grief, recovering from trauma, or feeling generally overwhelmed and under-awed in faith & life, this season is for you!

Quotes

I will no longer allow shame to force me into hiding.

While I have been believing for two decades—and teaching for over one decade—that God is good, I think it really is just now, in and through all this heartbreak, that I discovered just how near, and kind, and gentle, and merciful, and tender Jesus really is. That has been a comfort to me. It has maybe even saved me.

If you, like me, find yourself in a desert wilderness so to speak—surrounded by doubt, loss, grief, or hurt—and your heart is starving for a morsel of hope, season three is me telling you where I'm finding mine.

This recent suffering has clarified for me that I want more peace, more freedom, and more wholeness. I am convinced that the best (and only) pathway to that is more Jesus.

Whatever our life experiences and faith backgrounds, we all want to live healthy and whole lives. We want to connect deeply with God, ourselves, and others. And to do that, we need to draw near and dwell well.

Wait by Christine Crawford

What I would not give to rise
from this window seat of longing
and brave my way into the gray
—and through the gray—to part
the veil that obscures life from Light
